Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for neurologists, pediatricians, primary care providers, and pharmacists.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to discuss how recreational cannabinoid extracts are produced vs the requirements for FDA-approved, plant-based cannabinoid extracts.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Primary goals of the process for extracting specific compounds from cannabis plants
    • Differences in processes for cannabinoids used for recreational purposes vs for cannabinoids that are FDA approved for medical use
