Depression, one of the most common mental health disorders, affects more than 300 million people worldwide. Although significant on its own, depression is also associated with numerous other medical conditions and mental disorders, including bipolar disorder, dysthymia, dementia, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
