Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, rheumatologists, emergency medicine physicians, and primary care physicians.

The goal of this activity is for learners to enhance diagnosis of pericarditis and selection of appropriate treatment to improve disease management.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have greater competence related to
    • Identification of clinical presentation and selection of diagnostic strategy for suspected pericarditis
    • Initiation of appropriate therapy, including novel agents, for patients diagnosed with pericarditis
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Identify and treat recurrent pericarditis based on patient history, clinical symptoms, and assessment
