Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for psychiatrists, primary care providers, nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs) involved in the care of patients with neuropsychiatric conditions. 

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to work together as an interprofessional team to care for the mental health of their patients.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Specialization of nonphysician practitioners in the field of psychiatry
    • Roles and responsibilities of nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) in psychiatric care
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Work as a member of the interprofessional team to optimize the delivery of psychiatric care
