Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of non-US neurologists, orthopedists, pulmonologists, and pediatricians.

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to select experts for a multidisciplinary team for the care of patients with SMA and increase the ability to individualize treatment and follow-up of adolescent and adult patients with SMA.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Roles and responsibilities of different SMA care team members
    • Strategies for transitioning patients with SMA from pediatric to adult care
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Planning individualized care for adult patients with SMA as part of a multidisciplinary team
