Target Audience and Goal Statement

This educational activity is intended for an international audience of European gastroenterologists/hepatologists, hematology/oncology specialists, and surgeons.

The goal of this activity is to update practitioners and surgeons with the most current evidence that supports the optimal management of patients with chronic liver disease (CLD).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Novel treatment options for CLD-associated thrombocytopenia, including rationale and supporting evidence
    • Best practice for management of CLD-associated thrombocytopenia prior to elective invasive procedures
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Implementation of best practice for identification and management of CLD-associated thrombocytopenia in patients undergoing elective invasive procedures
