OVERVIEW

This program features 3 expert faculty who will review the care of patients with bipolar disorder. In particular, the content will address specific challenges in managing bipolar disorder including differentiating bipolar disorder from other psychiatric disorders and utilizing an individualized, evidence-based approach to clinical management. Discussion of the treatment for bipolar disorder will focus on assessing treatment efficacy, medication adherence, navigating treatment side effects, and understanding how and when to switch medications.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for psychiatrists, psychiatry nurse practitioners (NPs), and physician assistants (PAs) involved in the care of patients with bipolar disorder. 

GOAL STATEMENT

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to identify bipolar disorder, recognize patients who are not achieving appropriate treatment response, and optimize treatment based on the latest evidence and patient-related factors.
