Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for cardiologists, primary care clinicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals who care for patients at risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD).

The goal of this activity is to enhance the knowledge about wearable cardioverter-defibrillators (WCDs) and discuss the clinical data on effectiveness of WCD and effective strategies to implement its use in clinical practice to optimize outcomes in patients at risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD).

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Benefits of remote patient management strategies related to effective use of WCD to reduce the risk for SCD
  • Have greater competence related to
    • The use of effective remote patient management strategies to optimize care for patients at risk for SCD
