Target Audience and Goal Statement

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, infectious disease specialists, and primary care physicians.

The goal of this activity is that learners will be better able to provide expert perspective and guidance on the evolving understanding of the microbiome, gut dysbiosis, and current and emerging treatments for recurrent CDI, with appropriate incorporation of new therapies into patient care.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will:

  • Have increased knowledge regarding the
    • Mechanism of action of microbiome-directed therapeutics for CDI
  • Have greater competence related to
    • Determining a patient care strategy for recurrent CDI
  • Demonstrate greater confidence in their ability to
    • Discuss the different attributes of microbiome-based therapies
